Rotary District 1913 Croatia

Rotary District 1913 is a voluntary, independent and not-for-profit organisation of Rotary clubs in Croatia, who are also members of Rotary International.

Rotary Club Zagreb, established on 23 October 1990 in Zagreb, was the first Rotary club in Croatia admitted to Rotary International.

After more than 20 years of being part of Rotary District 1910, the independent Rotary District 1913 was set up following the decision of Rotary International. Rotary District 1913 supports the activities and development of Rotary clubs in Croatia, taking into consideration the needs of local communities in line with Rotarian principles and the legislation.

At the Charter Ceremony held at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb on 18 June 2011 President of Rotary International Ray Klinginsmith presented the Charter to the first District Governor Mr Ivo Husić. The Charter was the recognition of the club by Rotary International.

From then on the Rotary clubs in Croatia achieved many projects and programmes through which they reached out to Croatian citizens, mostly from their own resources, but also through international co-operation with other Rotary clubs who gladly made their personal and financial contributions to our projects and programmes.

By establishing Rotary District 1913 Croatian Rotarians have accepted all duties and challenges set by this highly esteemed world organisation particularly when it comes to independent initiatives and assistance guided by principles of service above self.
